Admissions FAQs
1. Where do I request information about admission to K-State?
You can request information electronically, e-mail k-state@k-state.edu or call 785-532-6250 or 1-800-432-8270 (toll free).
2. How many times should I take the ACT?
Many students take the ACT more than once. Try to take it some time during the spring of your junior year, and maybe again during the summer between your junior and senior year. It’s best to have all your tests completed by October of your senior year. If you’re a senior and have not taken the ACT, take it as soon as possible.
3. What are the requirements for freshman admission?
New freshmen must meet any one of three criteria to be admitted to K-State. If you don’t meet these criteria, you may be admitted as an exception.
4. What is the lowest ACT score I can have to get admitted to K-State?
The minimum score is 21 on the ACT. But don’t panic if you don’t have a score of 21. You can still get into K-State if you are ranked in the top third of your senior class or have a 2.0 GPA (2.5 GPA for out-of-state students) in the Kansas pre-college curriculum.
5. What is the deadline for admission?
K-State accepts admissions applications all year. If you’re a senior, you should apply for both admission and scholarships by November 1 to be considered for all scholarships available. For the College of Architecture, Planning, and Design, the interior design program in the College of Human Ecology, and the wildlife and outdoor enterprise management program in the College of Agriculture, send your application and accompanying materials by February 1.
