THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Semesters
Semesters at K-State begin in late August, mid-January, and mid-May. The August and January semesters are 16 weeks long.
Summer semester includes courses with varying start and end dates. Courses range in length from several days to eight weeks.
Orientation and enrollment
New students participate in special orientation and enrollment programs for the fall and spring semesters.
- Fall orientation is held in June and August for new freshmen and transfer students; transfer students may also enroll in April.
- Spring orientation is held in November for transfer students and in January for all new students.
- Summer semester students have several enrollment options. You will learn about these options after being admitted to K-State.
Language of instruction
If your primary language is not English, you must demonstrate proficiency in English before enrolling. You may do this by presenting acceptable results from TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, or ACT or by successfully completing four years of college preparatory English and/or speech at a U.S. high school or English Composition I and II courses at a U.S. institution of higher education.
