EVALUATING YOUR CREDITS

When you are admitted the Office of Admissions will evaluate your transcripts for course transferability. Your K-State dean's office will then evaluate your courses for applicability to your intended degree program.

Course transferability

Transfer credits are approved as applicable by the college you transfer into. Credits determined to be applicable toward one major may not necessarily apply toward another.

Up to half the required degree hours may be completed at an accredited two-year college.

All credits from an associate degree are not necessarily applicable toward a bachelor's degree; additional freshman, sophomore, and general education courses may be required to meet degree requirements.

DARS: Automated transfer evaluation

The Degree Audit Reporting System is a computerized personalized analysis of your progress toward a specific K-State degree. DARS will automatically show how most work transfers to K-State.

How DARS works

DARS articulation tables have been established for the 19 Kansas community colleges and several area colleges. Partial course equivalency information has been created for the Kansas Board of Regents schools, Kansas private schools, and select out-of-state and international schools.

See which courses transfer

DARS will also include any K-State courses you have completed. The DARS report shows the degree requirements, which degree requirements have or have not been met, and which courses are needed to complete the degree. The DARS report is individualized for you, and special requirements or messages for you appear only when needed.

DARS reports are available for degree-seeking students whose college career began in fall 1999 or later.

How to do your DARS evaluation

You have to apply for admission first. Once admitted, you may access your DARS report online via iSIS, the K-State Student Information System. Here's how:

1. Register your eID.

2. Log on to iSIS.

3. Go to Self Service.

4. Click on Degree Progress/Graduation.

5. Click Submit Report. A box will appear. Click OK.

6. Click on the Results tab.

7. Refresh the page until the status reads "D".

8. Click View Report.
