INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER STUDENTS

If you are an international student requesting an F1, J1, or J2 visa, follow these procedures.

You must submit the international student application and application fee along with translated official school transcripts from all institutions, including high schools and colleges. You also need to forward a properly completed and current affidavit of support. Complete instructions appear on the international application.

Apply now

To receive transfer credit from an international college or university, we strongly encourage you to submit an evaluation report from a credential service. Applications can be processed more quickly when you provide a credential evaluation. The service used is up to you, but it must be one that is a member of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services).

You may be granted credit for university-level studies completed abroad after you are officially admitted to K-State. Syllabi, course descriptions, and test results may be required to identify these credits.

Application of international credits toward degree requirements will not be determined until you have actually enrolled at K-State and can discuss appropriate options with your academic advisors and dean.

Financial support

K-State does not offer financial assistance for international students. Scholarships for international students are extremely limited.

If you are requesting a visa: K-State requires an affidavit of support from your sponsor stating that he or she will provide financially for each year of study at K-State.

Grade requirements

Applications are reviewed on the basis of several factors, including secondary schooling records, test scores, English proficiency, and academic achievements at the college and university level. Thus, it is not possible to specify a minimum acceptable U.S. GPA. We conscientiously review trends in grades, scope of course work, levels of achievement related to intended program of study, and satisfactory progress toward degree objectives.

English language proficiency

English is the language of instruction at K-State. You can be admitted to K-State without proof of English proficiency.
