GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS
Overall credits
To earn your bachelor's degree, the Kansas Board of Regents requires that you complete at least 124 credit hours, 60 of which must be from institutions that award the majority of their degrees at the bachelor's level or above. A minimum of 45 semester credit hours must be in upper-division courses.
Credits at K-State
You must complete at least 30 hours at K-State, 20 of which must be completed on campus. Generally, you are expected to complete courses in your major at K-State, although exceptions may be granted by your major department. The common requirements for all curricula leading to an undergraduate degree are Expository Writing (6 credits) and Public Speaking (2 credits).
General education
Transfer students must complete a minimum number of university general education credit hours at K-State. That number is based upon the number of completed transfer credit hours accepted at K-State.
You must complete a minimum of 6 credit hours of K-State upper-division UGE courses (300 and above) as specified in the program in which you will graduate.

The university general education program helps you widen your perspectives, explore the relationships between subjects, and build critical and analytical thinking skills. These general education courses should be continuous and spread across your entire college career, not taken all at once.
