Transfer student scholarships and awards
Priority date for transfer scholarships: February 1
You must be admitted to K-State as a full-time student to be eligible for these scholarships.
For students who will start classes during the spring semester, apply by February 1. You'll be considered for the next academic year's scholarships.
All of these scholarships can be combined with others from your college or department, unless otherwise specified. Students studying by distance education are not eligible.
Kansas State Transfer Award
This nonrenewable scholarship awards $2,000, and priority is given to Kansas community college transfer students. Eligible students must have 24 or more transfer hours and a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or above. Other transfer students may be eligible.
Kansas State Transfer Academic Award
K-State offers this $2,500 nonrenewable scholarship to Kansas community college transfer students. Eligible students must have 24 or more transfer hours and a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or above. This award goes to transfer students with high academic achievement. Other transfer students may be eligible.
Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Academic Award
This nonrenewable $2,500 scholarship is for students active in Phi Theta Kappa. Eligible students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or above and must enroll at K-State immediately after attending a community college. You must mark the Phi Theta Kappa question on the scholarship application to be considered for this scholarship.
K-State Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship/Phi Theta Kappa All-Academic Team
K-State offers 10 nonrenewable $3,000 scholarships, and priority is given to transfer students from Kansas community colleges. Eligible students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above, transfer 24 or more credit hours to K-State, and enroll at K-State immediately after attending a community college. Part-time students and students with previous bachelor’s degrees are not eligible. Priority is given to Kansas academic team nominees. You must mark the Phi Theta Kappa question on the scholarship application to be considered for this scholarship.
Transfer Student Legacy for non-Kansas residents
This scholarship is awarded to students with a minimum transfer GPA of 3.6 and who have a parent who has graduated from K-State. Eligible students pay 150 percent of in-state tuition, roughly $7,000, and must maintain a 3.0 GPA at K-State. This scholarship is renewable for two years with a GPA of 3.0 or above. This scholarship can be combined with academic departmental and college awards, but cannot be combined with other Phi Theta Kappa or transfer awards.
Transfer Honors Scholarship for non-Kansas residents
This scholarship is awarded to students who have 24 or more transfer hours and a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or above. Eligible students pay 150 percent of in-state tuition, roughly $7,000, for up to three years. This scholarship is renewable with a GPA of 3.6 or above. This scholarship can be combined with academic departmental and college awards, but cannot be combined with other Phi Theta Kappa or transfer awards.
Purple and White Scholarship for non-Kansas residents
This scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit to students from Big 12 states—Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, and Colorado. Eligible students pay 150 percent of in-state tuition, roughly $7,000, for three years with a 3.6 GPA. Transfer students must have a 3.6 transfer GPA on 24 or more credit hours. This scholarship can be combined with academic departmental and college awards, but cannot be combined with other Phi Theta Kappa or transfer awards.
