Res hall redo: Make a bouquet of pens

Brighten up your standard-issue residence hall desk with this colorful project.

Get this

  • Silk flowers (daisies and zinnias work best)
  • Pens
  • Floral tape
  • Wire cutters
  • Vase or pencil cup

Do this

  • 1. Cut the stems so that each flower has a one-inch stem.
    2. Hold the stem flush with the pen.
    3. Starting at the top of the pen, wrap the pen with floral tape so that the flower is secure.
    4. Continue wrapping the pen until covered.
    5. Arrange the flowers in the vase.
