Walking tours leave every half hour from the admissions booth in the Union.

Housing options
Stop by booths in the Union to explore your housing options. Then let your spirit run wild by visiting any of K-State's living options. Hop on a shuttle from Bosco Student Plaza for a ride to any of the residence hall complexes, Jardine Apartments, or Greek chapter houses.
Residence halls
Drop by the halls throughout the day for tours of suites and traditional rooms, refreshments, and fun. A $5.50 all-you-can-eat sandwich bar will be available at each dining center during lunch. Stop by our model room in the Union to meet with staff members, pick up information about living on campus, and win prizes.
Jardine Apartments
Stop by to tour K-State’s new on-campus apartments. Kick off your day with free pancakes at the Frith Community Center (2002 Tunstall Circle) from 7:30 to 10 a.m.
Fraternities and sororities
Tour Greek houses from noon to 3 p.m. Vans depart from the east side of the Union every 15 minutes. Many fraternity chapters host open houses for prospective members and their families.
Visit our table in the Union to pick up recruitment information, learn about Greek life, and register for a $50 Visa gift card drawing. Watch the Greek life video, and get your questions answered by fraternity and sorority leaders.

Which careers—and K-State majors—might be the right fit for you? Take a free online career assessment, offered every hour, beginning at 10 a.m. (It's limited to eight people per hour, so stop by early to sign up for a spot.) Academic and Career Information Center, 14 Holton Hall.
Student life tours And Events
Recreation Complex
Visit the award-winning Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex, the campus hub for fitness, recreation, intramurals, and club sports. Guided tours begin every hour, or you can just drop by to look around. Located at Denison and Olympic Drive (east of the football stadium).
Hale Library
Unleash your adventurous spirit at our information oasis in front of Hale Library’s southwest entrance. Here's what's inside:
- See exotic librarians in their native habitat.
- Marvel at the mystical Cathedral Room, and hear intrepid explorers regale you with their amazing adventures during children’s story time. Afraid of getting lost? Take a guided tour through the literary labyrinth immediately afterward. 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Traverse our many hidden staircases, discover “Harry Potter’s cupboard,” and gaze at fantastic murals from a forgotten age.
Alumni Center
Stop by the Alumni Center, which serves as both home to the K-State Alumni Association and a meeting and convention center for campus and community events. Highlights of the building include an aquarium filled with purple fish, the K-State Memorabilia Room, the original Bluemont Arch from 1859, a bronze Wildcat statue, and more.
Telefund grand prize giveaway: a new car
Join the K-State Telefund team as it shares the success of this year's calling campaign, recognizes outstanding volunteers, and awards one lucky student caller with a new 2008 Nissan Versa. Other prizes will be scholarships, laptops, mp3 players, and more. 1:20 p.m., Bosco Plaza, outside the Union.
Beach Museum of Art
Check out these exhibits: Mega Churches: Joe Johnson Photographs; Alphabet Soup: Work by Stephen Johnson, Jim Munce, and Tony Fitzpatrick; Drawings: Selections from the Permanent Collections; and Copper Truck by Elliott Pujol.
Continuing education, graduate study, and BRI
Division of Continuing Education
K-State distance education offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and certificate and professional development opportunities for those who are unable to attend traditional on-campus classes. State-of-the-art technologies, flexible hours, affordability, and award-winning programs make K-State a leader in distance education. Graduate School programs
K-State offers advanced study in more than 65 master's degrees, 21 certificate programs, and 43 doctoral programs. K-State receives more than $100 million each in year in external research funding. Stop by the Graduate School's table in the Union to find out more.
Biosecurity Research Institute
Check out K-State’s latest and greatest scientific space: the Biosecurity Research Institute at Pat Roberts Hall.
- Step into the shoes of a scientist. Lab coat-clad “researchers” will use the mock lab to demonstrate safety procedures and what it’s like to work in a biocontainment lab. Check out the gear researchers wear to keep themselves safe and stick around for a demonstration.
- Learn how the BRI was built and why it’s so safe. Find out how BRI research translates into safe and reliable food.
Discover what the National Agricultural Biosecurity Center is all about. - Have questions about the National Bio and Agro-defense Facility? University officials will be on hand to share the details about what the $451-million federal lab would mean for the community.
Fun around campus
On the quad: K-State's carnival of conservation and culture
Explore the excitement of protecting the earth and learning more about different aspects of our world. Check out displays and entertainment by student groups on the quad between Waters Hall and Hale Library.
- Walk through a 30-foot hoop house to see how you can grow crops during the winter. K-State's new student farm club will start its farm this spring.
- Can you make the choice that's the most environment-friendly? Test yourself in a fun game. Learn about the Greeks Go Green campaign to make fraternities and sororities friends of the environment.
- Play a sort-the-recyclables game. Join the Students for Environmental Action in the Embrace the Green campaign by wearing a green bracelet and pledging to do tasks that help the environment.
- Check out a model sustainable house with working wind generation and photovoltaics provided by the Emerging Green Builders.
- See the juggling club in action. 9 a.m.
- See the Yosakoi dance troupe. 10:30 a.m.
- See the chemistry magic show. 11 a.m.
- See historical figures come to life by the Lecompton Reenactors. 12:30 p.m.
