Self-guided tours and information

Come to the college information/welcome table to pick up a college brochure/map for a self-guided tour. First floor, center wing, Seaton Hall (enter through the south doors from Bosco Student Plaza).

Studio visits and class project displays

Immerse yourself in models, furniture, plans, lighting, and landscapes designed, drawn, and built by students. Visit with our students and faculty about our academic programs.

  • Architecture. First and second floors, east wing, Seaton Hall.
  • Environmental design studies. Ground and first floors, east wing, Seaton Hall.
  • Interior architecture and product design. Second floor, east wing, Seaton Hall.

Activities and demonstrations

Advising for prospective students and guests

Representatives from the dean’s office/student services will be available to answer questions about academic programs, the application and admission process, and the design professions. College information/welcome tables. First floor, center wing, Seaton Hall (enter through the south doors from Bosco Student Plaza).

Presentation about academic programs

This 30-minute presentation, designed for high school students and guests, explores the professions of architecture, interior architecture and product design, landscape architecture, and regional and community planning. Questions about the application and admission process will also be answered. 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Foerster Auditorium, 63 Seaton Hall.

Rain garden tour

Visit the award-winning International Student Center rain garden, designed and constructed in 2007 by students and faculty from the Department of Landscape Architecture/Regional and Community Planning (with support from many partners). Rain-bowls were installed by sculpture students and faculty in 2008. The rain garden highlights ways to reduce stormwater runoff and improve water quality in local streams by using permeable pavements and collecting rooftop runoff for reuse within a perennial garden. 1 to 2 p.m., International Student Center (look for the Taiwan Wing off Mid-Campus Drive).

Annual student photography competition

View black and white, landscape, exterior architecture, interiors and architectural details, and creative photography by students. Chang Gallery, first floor, central wing, Seaton Hall.

Crayons and crafts for kids

Children of all ages can express their creativity by coloring under the direction of architecture, planning, and design students. Must be accompanied by adult. Pierce Commons, ground floor, east wing, Seaton Hall.

Raffle

Win cool prizes in a drawing conducted every hour by regional and community planning students. Enjoy music and refreshments all day, as well as presentations of projects by planning students at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m. Seaton Square, third floor, center wing, Seaton Hall.

National Organization of Minority Architecture Students

Come learn what NOMAS is all about. First floor, east wing, Seaton Hall.

College merchandise for sale

Weigel Library

Browse new publications being added regularly to the library’s collection of 40,000+ volumes. View rare books from the collection of Paul Weigel, for whom the library is named. 323 Seaton Hall.
