Campus tours

Walking tours leave every half hour from the admissions booth in the Union.

En español: The 1 p.m. tour will be conducted in English and Spanish.

Housing options

Stop by booths in the Union to explore your housing options. Then let your groovy side show by visiting any of K-State’s living options. Hop on a shuttle from Bosco Student Plaza for a ride to any of the residence hall complexes or Jardine Apartments.

Residence halls

Drop by the halls throughout the day for tours of suites and traditional rooms, refreshments, and fun. A $5.50 all-you-can-eat sandwich bar will be available at Derby and Kramer dining centers during lunch.

Stop by our model room in the Union to meet with staff members, pick up information about living on campus, and win prizes.

Jardine Apartments

Stop by to tour K-State’s new on-campus apartments. Kick off your day with free pancakes at the Frith Community Center (2002 Tunstall Circle) from 7:30 to 10 a.m.

Fraternities and sororities

Tour Greek houses from noon to 3 p.m.Many chapters host luncheons for prospective members and their families.

Visit our table in the Union to pick up recruitment information, learn about Greek life, and get your questions answered by fraternity and sorority leaders.

Scholarship/cooperative house tours

Women:

  • Smurthwaite Leadership/Scholarship House, 1500 N. Manhattan Avenue.
  • Alpha of Clovia, 1200 Pioneer Lane.

Which careers—and K-State majors—might be the right fit for you? Take a free online career assessment, offered every hour, beginning at 10 a.m. (It’s limited to eight people per hour, so stop by early to sign up for a spot.) Academic and Career Information Center, 14 Holton Hall.

Student life tours

Recreation Complex

Visit the award-winning Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex, the campus hub for fitness, recreation, intramurals, and sport clubs. Guided tours will be offered all day, or drop by to look around. Parents or guests accompanied by a K-State student can get a free daily pass. Located at Denison Avenue and Olympic Drive (east of the football stadium).

K-State Libraries

In the Union:

  • Find out how your own puzzle piece fits into the big picture of K-State Libraries. You’ll get useful information, hear some great music, and meet some lively librarians. Don’t forget to pick up a library magnet and get your puzzle piece.

Hale Library: Follow the pink paw prints

  • Connect with your very own librarian and enter the prize drawing.
  • Check out some unusual items from the libraries’ collection.
  • Find your parents or grandparents in our old K-State yearbooks.
  • Play Guitar Hero or Wii Sports and learn why games are an important part of libraries today.
  • Visit the ADAPT station to find out how the libraries are using technology to help students with disabilities.

Alumni Center

Stop by the Alumni Center, which serves as both home to the K-State Alumni Association and a meeting and conference center for campus and community events. Highlights of the building include an aquarium filled with K-State fish, the K-State Memorabilia Room, the original Bluemont Arch from 1859, a bronze Wildcat statue, and more.

Telefund grand prize giveaway: a new car!

Join the K-State Telefund team as it shares the success of this year’s calling campaign, recognizes outstanding volunteers, and awards one lucky student caller with a new 2009 Nissan Versa. Other prizes will be scholarships, laptops, mp3 players, and more. Noon, Bosco Student Plaza, outside the Union.

Beach Museum of Art

Continuing education and graduate study

Division of Continuing Education

K-State distance education offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and certificate and professional development opportunities for those who are unable to attend traditional on-campus classes. Current technologies, flexible hours, affordability, and award-winning programs make K-State a leader in distance education. Check out the information table in the Union to learn more about opportunities to continue your education.

Graduate School programs

K-State offers advanced study in more than 65 master’s programs, 21 certificate programs, and 43 doctoral programs. K-State receives more than $100 million each year in external research funding. Stop by the Graduate School table in the Union to find out more.

On the quad: K-State’s carnival of conservation and culture

Between Waters Hall and Hale Library

  • Explore the excitement of protecting the earth and learning more about our world. Play recycling games, see hybrid cars, check out water pollution demonstrations, and learn how K-State students are making a difference. Get autographs from Willie the WIldcat and the K-State athletes.
  • See the juggling club in action. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Lecompton Reenactors. 10 a.m.
  • Stuff your face at the wing eating contest. 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
