From earthquakes to Tsunamis, from gas we use in our cars to getting rid of our trash, from finding clean drinking water to uncovering prehistoric dinosaur bones, geology plays a critical role. A brief overview of the many exciting careers in geology will also be examined. The format of the talk is an interactive power point slide show. Questions and discussion are encouraged. No prior knowledge is needed. The talk can be adapted to any age group. The topic of ENERGY, coal, oil, oil shale, nuclear, wind power, ethanol, can be integrated into the lecture if requested.
