"When you do an internship you get to experience new things, places, procedures, and you get to meet industry professionals. The on-the-job training that you experience is great, and it gets you ready for your future."
"I worked on the Trump International Hotel and Towers in Las Vegas, Nevada."
"Work started at 7 a.m. I would get coffee, check e-mails, and file any paperwork that didn’t get filed the night before, and then have a meeting with fellow workers. Then we’d go out to the job site and look things over, write safety audits, and do as-built drawings and quality control for the superintendents before visiting with the subcontractors.
In the office I would write requests for job information, do work on submittals, and check drawings and specifications. I was also the runner and I would go to the architect’s office to pick up packages and to the county permits office to pick up building permits. I also took a lot of pictures for various reasons. I spent a lot of time visiting with people in the office and on the phone with subcontractors and suppliers."
"Best summer ever!"
"Do as many internships as you can do while you are in college. Get all the experience you can get."
