Service opportunities

You don’t have to travel the world to find opportunities to serve. But at K-State, you can. Become an international team member, or give your time to those in need right here in Manhattan. Check out these service options in the Little Apple and beyond.

Go Greek

If you want to be constantly involved, joining a Greek organization might be the way to go. Each of K-State’s Greek chapters has its own community service program designed to raise money for charity. Last year Greeks logged more than 20,000 community service hours and raised almost $200,000 for charities like the American Cancer Society and the United Way.

Up ’Til Dawn

You don’t have to be Greek to participate in many campus service activities and fundraisers. Any K-Stater can participate in Up ‘Til Dawn, a program that raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Last year alone, K-State raised over $140,000 for the hospital.

Community Service Program

This program can connect you to service opportunities just about anywhere. Tutor grade-school children in Manhattan or ship out with a spring break team. Former groups have worked with AIDS victims, provided food for homeless children, and combated damage from hurricane Katrina. International teams have been to Jordan, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bosnia, and more.

Community Service Week

K-State can take you all over the world, but there is a need for volunteers right here in the Little Apple. During Community Service Week, help out around Manhattan by raking leaves for elderly citizens or sorting canned food at the Flint Hills Breadbasket.

Think big

Get involved with major service organizations like the American Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, and more through the K-State Volunteer Center. The program connects students with opportunities to work with youth, the environment, the homeless, and more.
