Remember: just because you're leaving for college doesn't mean you're here forever. You don't have to bring every item you own. (And if you do, you'll have a hard time fitting it all in your residence hall room.) Be selective about what does and doesn't come to K-State with you
You’ll need all the space you can get in your closet. Remember: just because you’re at college doesn’t mean you’ll never go home again. You can swap out your summer clothes for sweaters and jackets over Thanksgiving break.

It may get a little chilly in your room, but space heaters aren’t allowed. A stadium blanket will not only keep you toasty in the res halls, but it will also keep you from freezing during those winter home games.

Is that strange odor in the hall coming from your room? Well, fire-safety rules say you can’t cover it up with a candle or incense, but feel free to bring as much country garden air freshener as you can fit in your suitcase.

Believe it or not, you will miss your Mommy. Some pets are allowed, but make sure to bring something else to snuggle with just in case. Those first few nights away from home can be lonely.

No matter how social you are, you will have to spend some time studying. Make sure you have the supplies you’ll need for an efficient workspace.

Trust us, your roommate will appreciate both.
